Dawn Ward 'mortified' after she's accused of not paying a DJ for her birthday party

The DJ was forced to tweet the Real Housewives of Cheshire star publicly after payment failed to materialise for her services performed more than a month ago.

She had spent weeks being told she would soon be paid by one of Dawn's staff after being called last minute to perform at the party at Dawn's multi-million pound home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

The reality star, 45, insisted that she knew nothing of the bill for the DJ who performed at her birthday party at her's home until it was brought to her attention.

She exclusively told The Sun Online that she was left shocked by the bill, insisting she had only just discovered it.

Dawn said: "I was mortified, I was like, 'What the hell is this?' because I didn't know anything about it.

"But I do know about it now and it's being sorted out today."

Explaining that a former staff member had been promising payment to the DJ, but not passing on the messages to Dawn, she added: "Somebody else at Kandi Tree [was dealing with it] and they have left the business and I didn't know."

Property developer Dawn, who is said to be worth £42m, has been embroiled in a high profile financial row with former Real Housewives star and friend Leanne Brown over an alleged £500,000 loan made to Dawn.

But she insists this situation is simply down to a mistake and isn't because she doesn't want to pay her bills.

She said: "I'm sorry about that – it's not because I don't want to pay my bills, it's because I didn't know anything about it.

"It happens all the time in business. It's quite frustrating. It happens all the time in business in general unfortunately but I don't usually get public tweets."

Dawn added: "She would have been paid had she dealt with somebody else, but we actually didn't know about it.

However, at the time of publishing the DJ is still waiting to be paid with Dawn insisting she has yet to receive an invoice.
