Along with former Doctor Who star David Tennant, Danny Dyer was spotted on the set of Disney+ series Rivals, which is based on the Jilly Cooper novel of the same name. The former EastEnders star looks very different to his Mick Carter alter-ego as he dons a suit and a new hairdo in snaps taken on set.

Danny, 45, left EastEnders in shocking Christmas Day scenes last year.

He has since taken on other projects, and photos of him on the Rivals set will certainly attract intrigue about the new show.

According to Mirror Online, Danny is taking on the role of Freddie Jones, while David, 51, depicts Tony Baddingham.

David also looks different in the snaps as he was seen wrapped in a long, thick coat.

Danny looks serious in the photos and seems to be carrying a bag of some kind, whereas David appears cheerful as he smiles in some of the snaps.

The former Doctor was also dressed smartly, sporting a bowtie and a blazer beneath the large coat.

It’s the first time the duo have been spotted on set in Gloucestershire for the upcoming series.

Filming took place at a 16th-century country house in the county, which other cast members could also be seen leaving.

Speaking last year, writer Jilly explained she was excited for Rivals to hit the screens.

A film adaptation was released in 1993 and starred Marcus Gilbert as wealthy womaniser Rupert Campbell-Black.

Creators are hoping to achieve a Bridgerton-style version of the novel in the new series.

Jilly is also an executive producer of the series, along with DominicTreadwell-Collins, Alexander Lamb, Felicity Blunt and Laura Wade.

Speaking at the time, she stated: “I am so, so excited. Throughout my childhood, my favourite word was Disney.”
