Danny Dyer reckons Good Morning Britain should dump Piers Morgan

Danny Dyer delivered (arguably) the TV moment of the year on Good Morning Britain spin-off Good Evening Britain when he went on a foul-mouthed tirade against David Cameron and Brexit.

And while he’s no fan of the former Prime Minister and the current political turmoil, he’s no more positive towards one of the hosts asking questions during the classic TV moment.

Asked at last night’s (September 12) TV Choice Awards what he would change about Good Morning Britain, Danny had a very definitive answer.

“I think you gotta get rid of Piers,” he said on the red carpet, though his daughter Dani was a bit more sympathetic towards the presenter.

“This morning he was alright,” said the Love Island 2018 champion, though Danny was having none of it, adding: “Nah, I think he’s gotta go!”

Watching the footage on today’s GMB, Piers declared that he is “going nowhere”, while also doing a cringe impression of the EastEnders star.

However, Danny may get his wish as there is a chance that Piers could leave the show next year, the presenter revealing how long he was prepared to stay on the show to Digital Spy.

“Until the end of next year, because I am contractually obliged to do it until then,” he said, while Susanna Reid admitted he was “open to negotiations” after.

Yet, Piers recently announced he had signed a new two-year deal with ITV and was sticking around alongside his co-host, so he may be here to stay after all.

“Theoretically, we really hope he doesn’t leave,” GMB editor Neil Thompson further elaborated. “You build the show around people you’ve got.

“What’s really important is the show is an amazing show. It was amazing in 2014 when we launched it and it’s amazing today. It will always be an amazing show and we hope for as long as possible it’s an amazing show with Piers and Susanna.”

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am on ITV.
