Dancing On Ice’s Wes Nelson in floods of tears over Megan Barton-Hanson

Dancing On Ice star Wes Nelson was left in floods of tears while speaking about his ex Megan Barton-Hanson.

The Love Island contestant, 20, got very emotional while revealing the reason behind this week’s song choice.

Each celebrity has been asked to do a song that means something important to them – but it all gets too much for poor Wes.

Wes will be skating with professional partner Vanessa Bauer to ‘Never Too Much’ by Luther Vandross.

The reality TV star explained that this was his parents’ wedding song, then got teary as he spoke about his ‘love’ for Megan.

Wes says: "It’s my parents wedding song. My mum and dad genuinely mean the absolute world to me.

"I can’t even thank them enough for how much they’ve done for me. It’s a big thank you to them really.

"I think my mum and dad completely personify the word ‘love.’ Of course I’ve experienced love but I’d love to love like my parents do."

Wes then goes on to speak about his "difficult" split from Megan, which happened in the middle of this series of Dancing On Ice.

He says: "Me and Megs we had a really, really good bond and it makes me upset now to talk about it but it isn’t great, and it was really, really difficult at the time."

Emotional Wes falls forward, puts his hands to his face and then wipes away the tears with a tissue.

The Love Island finalists split up nearly six months after leaving the villa.

Following her savage split from her Love Island beau, Megan has made it clear she is moving on with her life.

The former glamour model is putting plans in place for her future and was briefly linked to Tottenham midfield ace Dele Alli.

While rumours have been flying around Wes and Vanessa after their kiss on the live show.

Megan has blocked him on Instagram and has confirmed they are no longer speaking on speaking terms after their short-lived romance .

Speaking on JK and Kelly Brook’s radio show recently, she said: "I think it’s hard when you break up because we got on so well and it wasn’t like we had done anything to each other – it was just circumstance and age and priorities.

"So for me I had to just cut him off to be able to heal and move on. It’s hard."

Megan explained that the decision to stop communication was "nothing malicious" and that "age and priorities" were behind the split.

She added: "I just needed to be strong and just block him for a while – so there are times when you do go back to your flat and you’re lonely it’s like ‘oh his number’s here shall I text him’ well I need to just be strong – it’s nothing malicious.

"I think in the future we’ll be really good friends but right now it’s so fresh."
