Dancing on Ice unveils ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden's professional partner and more

Dancing on Ice has unveiled yet more celebrity-and-professional pairings for the 2019 series.

After putting the notoriously fussy Gemma Collins with veteran DOI pro Matt Evers last night, the ITV reality competition has tonight (November 7) announced pairings for ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden and former EastEnders actor Richard Blackwood.

Let’s just say rookie pro Carlotta Edwards is going to need more than words to have Brian flying without wings on those triple axels. We’ll stop now…

Blackwood, who recently wrapped up his time on Albert Square as Vincent Hubbard, will be partnered on ice with Alex Murphy.

Pro skater Alex joined Dancing on Ice for its revival series last year, and was partnered with ex-Love Island star Kem Cetinay. The pair made it all the way to fourth place before being eliminated.

Here are the other pairings that have been announced this week:

  • Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan with pro Alexandra Schauman
  • Coronation Street actress Jane Danson with pro Sylvain Longchambon
  • Ex-Neighbours actor Mark Little with pro Brianne Delcourt
  • Cricketer Ryan Sidebottom with pro Brandee Malto
  • The X Factor‘s Saara Aalto with pro Hamish Gaman

Helping all of these pairs will be Karen Barber, the long-time Dancing on Ice judge who is returning to the show next year in the role of Head Coach.

“It’s a joy to return to Dancing on Ice as Head Coach,” she recently announced. “Having been involved with the show since its very first series, it holds a lot of special memories to me and I’m looking forward to working with this year’s celebrities as we start transforming them into skating stars.”

Dancing on Ice is expected to premiere on ITV in January 2019.
