Corrie’s Tommy Duckworth child actor looks unrecognisable 22 years after stint

Coronation Street child star Joseph Aston looks completely different 22 years after his stint on the soap playing Tommy Duckworth.

The child actor, who’s now 30, made his debut on the famous cobbles back in 2000.

His character Tommy was the adorable grandson of infamous characters Jack and Vera Duckworth.

Joseph’s most known storyline included a riveting plot involving a custody battle with Tommy's grandparents following the death of his mum.

During his time on the ITV show, a very young Tommy was memorable for his whispy brown hair and freckles.

These days, Joseph looks very different from the angelic youngster, as the actor now rocks a fair amount of stubble and has swapped acting for gardening.

The former child star does continue to have ties with the soap as he’s the older brother of Sam Aston, who plays long-running character Chesney Battersby-Brown – brother of Fiz Brown and son of Cilla Battersby-Browne

Big brother Joseph is one of three actors to play Tommy during the character’s 16 years in Weatherfield.

He was preceded by Darryl Edwards, who took on the role from 1992 to 1997 and then Chris Fountain who succeeded him from 2011 to 2013.

After his Corrie stint, Joseph appeared in the hit ITV series Where the Heart Is for 27 episodes and the BBC’s Casualty in 2003.

He now however spends his days gardening and hanging out with girlfriend.

Joseph and Sam’s sibling, Emily, 40, also appeared on Coronation Street as the character Rebecca Palmer between 1996 and 1997.
