Coronation Street’s Sally Carman has been speaking about her love for the festive season as well as her and fiancé Joe Duttine’s wedding plans.

Sally – who plays Abi Franklin in the ITV soap – is engaged to co-star Joe Duttine, who plays Tim Metcalfe.

After delaying their wedding because of the pandemic, Joe and Sally will finally tie the knot in 2022.

‘I’m obsessed with Christmas, so when Joe said, “what’s your favourite time, when would you most like to do it?”, it had to be Christmas’, Sally told The Mirror.

‘We’re going to have the wedding late afternoon so it’ll be dark and lit by rows of Christmas trees and twinkly lights; I can’t wait. We should have been getting married this December but put it to next year because we didn’t know what the score was going to be Covid-wise’.

‘We thought it was better to be safe than sorry, because I would have hated to have arranged it and then not be able to do it properly.’

In October, Sally opened up about how Joe supported her while filming difficult scenes for Super Soap Week.

Sally’s character Abi was seeking revenge on Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) at the time, which led to an intense, emotional showdown when the two of them fell through the collapsing sinkhole.

The actress explained to Metro.co.uk and other press that Joe was incredibly supportive towards her on one night in particular.

‘To be fair [to Joe], there was one night I came in and he always has tea prepared and I was freezing,’ she said.

‘He laid out my pyjamas, dressing gown, ran me a bath with salts and a cup of tea. So sweet, he is brilliant!’
