Corrie's Faye Brooks confirms 'zombie apocalypse' factory roof collapse will happen tonight while Rana has second thoughts about marrying Kate

CORONATION Street's Faye Brooks described the factory roof collapse as like a "zombie apocalypse" and revealed Rana has second thoughts about marrying Kate.

The actress appeared on Lorraine and teased an exciting week ahead for fans of the ITV soap as two major storylines come to a head.

Faye's alter-ego Kate Connor is all set marry her fiancée Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia).

But Weatherfield is set to be rocked by the Underworld factory roof collapsing in devastating scenes this week.

Lorraine Kelly told viewers it all kicks off in tonight's double episode and Faye responded: "Obviously the factory is owned by my cousin (Kate's cousin Carla Connor). It has been so crazy at work, watching the two different storylines going on.

"Imagine us all in the canteen, you've got me and Bhavna sat there in our frocks, all of the guests as well glammed up. Then you've got the zombie apocalypse on one side with everyone covered in dust, with cuts and blood.

"It's been amazing I'm so so excited for Corrie viewers to actually see what they've put together this week."

Lorraine viewers watched a teaser clip of tonight's double bill and saw Rana looking stressed and holding a bracelet.

Kate explained: "So to explain, that piece of jewellery is from Rana's mum. And if we cast our minds back to the drama she had to face her family, she loves Kate, and this is the life she wants to live, but she is worried if it is the right time to get married.

"It's just the timing, she definitely wants to be with Kate, I know."

Meanwhile, Faye is engaged in real life to Gareth Gates and told Lorraine the couple will "never take each other for granted again" after a brief split last year.

The couple separate ways last September following a six-year relationship but they got back together and he popped the question in January, and the 31-year-old star cannot wait to tie the knot.

She said: "It was for the right reasons for sure. I feel like we'll never take each other for granted ever again.

"Work took over and we ended up missing each other so much that we were missing life together. We are enjoying engagement but obviously I've been dreaming of this [wedding] day since I was a little girl."
