Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson has told fans that he has coronavirus, and described the symptoms as ‘bloody awful’ in a social media post.
The Steve McDonald actor appears to be in recovery as he was able to get out of bed today but he said that it was the first time in a while he had been able to do so.
He shared: ‘1st day out of bed today starting to feel a little better after contracting the virus.
‘My main symptom was gastric and still is bloody awful but lucky to not have respiratory. Stay safe everyone x.’
The cast of Coronation Street and Emmerdale have reportedly reached a financial agreement with regards to their contracts, to protect their financial security during the coronavirus shutdown.
The actors are currently unable to film with the soaps after filming was shut down but ITV has worked with the union Equity to ensure cast members are not left ‘uncompensated’ by not working.
