Coronation Street star Simon Gregson has returned to the soap for the first time since having coronavirus.
The actor — who portrays Steve McDonald in the long-running ITV serial drama — arrived at Granada studios this morning for his first day back on set.
Simon originally revealed that he had the coronavirus back in April.
He tweeted: ‘1st day out of bed today starting to feel a little better after contracting the virus.
‘My main symptom was gastric and still is bloody awful but lucky to not have respiratory. Stay safe everyone x.
The ITV soap was one of several which were forced to shut down production back in March amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In an effort to ensure the nation institution remained on our screens for as long as possible, episodes were rationed out at three a week as opposed to the usual six.
The serial drama was given the green light to resume filming last month, and actors including Jane Danson and Ben Price — who portrays Leanne and Nick Tilsley — returned to set at the beginning of last week.
In accordance with government guidelines, strict health and safety protocols — including social distancing — need to be adhered to on set.

Actor Simon is currently at the centre of a huge storyline, as his character Steve’s son Oliver has been diagnosed with mitochondrial disease.
Coronation Street continues Monday 15 June at 7:30pm on ITV.
