Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) has never had much luck in love during her time in Coronation Street. And even when she isn’t crushing on someone who then breaks her heart, she is being accused of fancying someone and then being left humiliated. But could it all be set to change when she sees builder Jan Lozinski (Piotr Baumann) in a new light? Sadly, it doesn’t seem like it.
Jan crashes into Mary while cycling and she is left with an injured arm. When he tries to apologise, she is frosty with him but when Mary then starts to get certain signs that he is the man for her, her impression suddenly chnages.
And Jan finds himself in an awkward situation as he becomes the object of her less than subtle affections.
The scenes have been revealed by new pictures on the ITV website, captioned: ‘Jan calls in the flower shop and buys an expensive bouquet. But who is it for? Mary is surprised to discover that he bought the flowers for her. Will she accept Jan’s apology this time?
‘Later, in the Rovers Jan tries his best to repel Mary’s advances. But it’s to no avail as a lovestruck Mary misreads the signals? How will Jan react?’
Currently married to Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden), Mary looks set to be in for a disappointment as later in the week, she sees Emily Bishop’s niece Freda in number one. But what news does she have of Emily and Norris?
Malcolm recently returned to the show after extended leave following recovery from a serious heart attack and has filmed a week’s worth of episodes. But can he bring a smile back to his best friend’s face or does he have more bad news in store for Mary?
