Corrie fans are convinced who burned Peter’s boat and who will be blamed

Coronation Street was on fire tonight. Well, Peter Barlow’s boat was and fans of the ITV soap have been quick to decide on who torched it and who will get the blame for it.

Carla Connor had been concerned about café owner Roy Cropper and the his bout of insomnia.

This has left him running on empty while cooking his fry-ups for the always hungry people of Weatherfield and he was becoming a danger as the lack of sleep leads to him making mistakes with the kitchen equipment.

Despite being persuaded to have a snooze by Carla, viewers are convinced that it was a tired Roy that started the fire on Peter’s boat.

Roy had been exercising his legs with a spot of sleepwalking in previous days and fans of the ITV soap believe it was one of these wanders that has started the blaze.

A person in a dark coat, with wrinkled hands, was seen sitting at the bottom of the boat, knocking over a fuel can in the process.

With that, boat goes up and the finger is pointing at Roy, or is it? The reaction on Twitter immediately found Roy the guilty party.

One soap fan tweeted: "I am convinced it was Roy, sleepwalking, who knocked the lantern over and set fire to the boat"

While another wrote: "Anyone else notice it was Roy that knocked the Latin?"

This Corrie watcher was convinced: "Definitely Roy! Either sleepwalking or going to see Carla at the factory and rested for a minute because of his tiredness and accidentally knocked the lamp over!"

There was agreement on social media as to who was going to get the blame though.

After Peter admitted to leading on Abi Franklin and telling her that she was not going on the maiden voyage of his boat, he effectively dumps her after his son Simon’s protestations.

One wrote: "Abi will get the blame for this # Corrie"

Another tweeted: "Peter is going to blame Abi for the fire."

In the aftermath though, there was a moment that fans of the soap really enthused about.

Peter ending in Carla’s arms, as she comforts him after he jumped from the burning boat has really given viewers the feels.

While there is no look of love just yet, this is the real story that Corrie fans want.
