Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson takes his £50,000 bright yellow Ford Mustang out for a spin – The Sun

CORONATION Street star Simon Gregson looked very cool as he took his £50,000 Ford Mustang for a spin today.

The 45-year-old, who is best known for playing Steve McDonald, couldn’t be missed in the bright yellow number as he ran errands around Cheshire.

Simon has always been a really big fan of cars – not just on the soap – and said he wanted to race cars before becoming an actor.

He previously told Cheshire Life: “I wanted to be in the RAF and I wanted to race cars. I had dreams of being a Formula 1 driver.

“I used to race cars on track days and absolutely loved it. But then Coronation Street were asking for two sons to be in the show.

“I went along and got the part. Its unbelievable. I thought Id be there for two or three years and it would give me enough money for my first car. When I was that age that’s all I cared about.

“It worked and I got a Suzuki Jeep.”

Last month it was revealed that Simon has been selling £30 personalised videos to fans – but has been banned from mentioning the soap.

He has been signed up by a company to offer the self-filmed video messages to his biggest fans via an online service.

In a warning posted on the website, it reads: "Simon cannot mention character names/locations etc from the TV Programme that he is in!

"Great as gifts for birthdays, Christmas, weddings, personal connections and much more. You can watch, download, share, & keep your video forever."

The actor first appeared in Coronation Street in 1989 as a child and graduated to the main cast as Street Cars co-owner Steve.
