Coronation Street‘s Sally Metcalfe is left devastated tonight (August 13) as she realises that her husband Tim has inadvertently made her look guilty of fraud.
Monday night’s double bill sees Sally get arrested as a result of the false allegations that devious Duncan Radfield made against her last week.
Sally is enjoying herself at a Speed Daal family day – dressed as a clown – when officers suddenly swoop in and take her down to the station for questioning.
Although Sally is initially baffled when she’s accused of fraud, bribery and money laundering, she soon realises that things don’t look good for her at all.

When the police present Sally with copies of her bank account, they demand to know why Duncan deposited £1,000.
This refers to the mystery transaction that Tim received a few weeks ago, which he passed off as a bonus from Streetcars.
Sally is horrified when she later quizzes Tim (Joe Duttine) about the discrepancy and he admits that he lied to her about the money, assuming that it was a bank error.

Furious, Sally points out that Tim has made her look guilty, especially as Duncan is claiming that she and him were having an affair. Is there any way out of this for Sally?
Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally, recently explained: “It’s very clever the way Duncan has done it. He’s done it drip by drip. At first Sally thought he was quite cute and he was very nice to her, so she gave him the money when she really shouldn’t have done.
“Sally thought it would all go away, but of course it doesn’t. Duncan has even set up burner mobile phones. In the end, it looks to Tim that Sally has been having an affair with Duncan. It’s all very complicated.”
Coronation Street airs tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
