CORONATION Street veteran Sally Dynevor has revealed she's "still in shock" after being made an MBE in the Queen's honours list.
The actress, 57, who has played Sally Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 35 years, has shared her excitement about the news.
Corrie's Sally has spoken about receiving an MBE in the New Year Honours list, alongside singer Craig David, while F1 champ Lewis Hamilton will be knighted.
She told The Mirror: "I am humbled, grateful and very proud to have received this honour. I am still in shock.
"I didn't believe it was real when I first found out earlier this month that I was to be given an MBE. Keeping it a secret has been so difficult."
She added: "The young girl in those scenes35 years ago could only have dreamed of the incredible things that were going to happen in the coming years."
Sally has been on the hit ITV show for the past 35 years and is one of the drama's longest serving stars alongside William Roach.
Sally has had huge storylines such as being a victim of domestic abuse, getting a breast cancer diagnosis and most memorably being wrongfully sent to prison for fraud.
The mum-of-two also thanked her husband Tim, whose she's been married to for 25 years.
She also thanked their children Phoebe, 25, who is the runaway star of new Netflix series Bridgerton, Sam, 23, and Hattie, 16, too.
Meanwhile Briderton fans were shocked to discover that Coronation Street's Sally was Daphne's mum is real life.
Fans took to Twitter to express their shock and awe as one penned: "I’m actually shook that Daphne in Bridgerton is Sally from Corrie’s real life DAUGHTER. #Bridgerton#coronationstreet#Netflix."
Another gobsmacked viewer wrote: "WAIT A BLOODY MINUTE. Daphne #Bridgerton is the daughter of Sally Webster off of Corrie?"
This was followed by a third user who tweeted: "It has fully blown my mind that the girl that plays Daphne in Bridgerton is the daughter of Sally Webster from Corrie in real life ahaha #Bridgerton."
