Coronation Street fans will see Leanne Battersby’s new romance get off to a rocky start next week, as Imran Habeeb brands her “a distraction” after they’ve spent the night together.
Show bosses have confirmed that Imran (Charlie De Melo) will be Leanne’s next love interest, as she starts moving on with her life after her family recently lost the Rovers Return.
Viewers will see the storyline begin later this week, as Imran turns to Leanne (Jane Danson) for comfort after his father Hassan passes away following his stroke.
Sadly for Leanne, it’s been confirmed that Imran is far from gentlemanly the next day when he firmly insists that their time together was just a one-off to take his mind off Hassan’s death.
Regretting his harsh words later on, Imran apologises to Leanne for his bad behaviour – and it seems that he may be getting her back on side just in time.
When Imran’s ex-partner Sabine storms into The Rovers and demands money from their divorce, Leanne saves him by introducing herself as Imran’s new PA and ordering Sabine to make an appointment.
Later in the week, Imran flirts with Leanne again – showing that he may have an interest in a longer-term connection with her after all.
Could this go somewhere? Or will Imran be distracted when a second new love interest makes her presence felt?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, August 20 and Wednesday, August 22 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
