In tonight’s dramatic double bill of Coronation Street (October 12), Ali Neeson took a major turn to the dark side as he murdered dangerous gangster Ronan Truman to protect his family.
In an attempt to exact his revenge on Ryan Connor for the death of his son Cormac, Ronan ended up crashing his car and being impaled by a metal fence post. Seizing the opportunity, Ali forced Ronan to pull the object out of his body, knowing it would kill him.
With Ali being the local GP, who’s used to saving lives rather than taking them, it was a big shock for viewers to see him become the villain.
One viewer tweeted: “Ali, what are you doing? Just because you live in Weatherfield where crime is rife it doesn’t mean you have to go with the flow. Unless you want to write your name on the cell wall that is covered with signatures of other residents past and present already.”
While another simply wrote: “Oh Ali, what have you done?!”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
