Michelle Connor has been seen dressed in all-black to attend a wake, but fans have been left in the dark as to who has died.
It has set off rumours that Michelle could be at Johnny's funeral after he recently suffered a health scare due to his MS.
He became unwell after kidnapping his granddaughter, Susie, from her mum, Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), following the death of his son Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward).
Aidan took his own life following a secret battle with depression in a storyline aiming to raise awareness of male suicide.
It was his dad Johnny who discovered his son’s body at his Victoria Street flat after Aidan failed to turn up for work at the factory.
It came shortly after he discovered Eva had secretly given birth to Aidan's baby and handed her over to pal Toyah Battersby who wanted to raise the baby as her own with Peter Barlow.
Johnny left fans shocked when he stole baby Susie from the pub after nicking Liz McDonald’s keys from her.
He then disappeared to a hotel with the tot, telling Liz he planned to take Susie to Spain because he couldn’t bear losing her.
But Liz called the police on him, telling Johnny – who has been in bits since his son Aidan killed himself in May – that it was what was best for Susie.
Johnny collapsed after handing back the baby to Eva, but later made up with the new mum.
Fans now think Johnny may have been killed off in the latest soap plot twist.
Kym, 42, was this week seen wearing a grey t-shirt and skinny black jeans while out filming on location.
Her character is set to marry fiance Robert Preston after Michelle was shot at her first attempt to walk down the aisle by evil Pat Phelan.
