THE net looks like it’s finally closing in on murderer Gary Windass in Coronation Street tonight as he’s hauled in by police over the factory roof collapse.
His arrest comes after prime suspect Nick Tilsley thinks he’s found something to get him off the hook.
He spots himself in one of Beth Tinker’s photos and says it proves he was nowhere near the factory at the time of the collapse.
Excited to prove his innocence, Nick – player by Ben Price – takes his discovery to the police but he’s led crestfallen when they remain unconvinced.
In the second of tonight’s Corrie double-bill, Nick’s sister, Sarah Platt, confides in boyfriend Adam Barlow about Nick’s alibi.
As they sit down to dinner at No.1 with Ken, Peter and Carla – Sarah has a shock when Carla starts telling them about a dream she had when she was having her psychotic breakdown.
She reveals that she dreamt Gary had visited her and gone through her handbag.
She also tells them that Sarah’s missing mobile hadn’t been with the others she’d stolen and stashed away.
Of course, Corrie viewers know that this was no dream at all and that Gary really did steal Sarah’s phone off of a very confused and distressed Carla.
Thinking he was going to die at the hands of psycho loan shark Rick Neelan, Gary had called Sarah, leaving her a voice mail where he confessed to being behind the roof collapse.
When he managed to get free from Rick, his first port of call was to make sure Sarah never got that message.
As Sarah listens to Carla’s story, pieces start fitting together in her head and later she tells Adam that she thinks Gary was involved in the roof sabotage.
Adam suggests she goes to the police with her hunch, but will Sarah be able to shop her ex-boyfriend?

Gary had taken several beatings as he tried to get her out of evil Nathan Curtis’ clutches.
