Coronation Street fans have been left feeling concerned for Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw).

The Weatherfield family have taken centre stage in the drama recently but the matriarch of the famiy has been nowhere to be seen.

Viewers have seen brothers Ronnie Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) and Ed Bailey (Vinta Morgan) secure a windfall after purchasing shares as the sale of the pub went through and acting on inside information.

There's been ups and downs for the siblings and it left Ed filled with worry when he realised the extent of the truth of Ronnie's plans.

Despite everything working in their favour in the end, it has offered temptation to Ed to lure him back into his gambling ways.

It was originally decided that Ed should not be able to access the money as a result of his past addictions.

Throughout all of this, Ed has been unable to speak to his wife Aggie as she has not been on the show at all.

As well as her busy shifts as a nurse at the hospital, it has also been explained that she has taken some time to visit a family member.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter to discuss Aggie's disappearance, One fan penned: "Has Lorna Laidlaw (Aggie) left now? She hasnt been in it for ages , real shame , liked her in Doctors."

Another added: "Aggie never switches off'… never comes home either by the looks of it either!."

A third person said: "Maybe Aggie has another family somewhere. No one has that many shifts."

"I think Aggie and the granddaughter have been locked in the cupboard with all the other missing characters. No idea what’s happened to Glory," someone else wrote.

The last time Aggie was on-screen she was left frustrated at being unable to spend any time with Ed and her children.

The storyline marks the first time this year the Bailey family have featured prominently raising further questions as to why Aggie would not be in the soap now.

Fans will have to wait and see if and when Aggie makes a return to Weatherifeld.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV1 and ITVX at 8pm
