Coronation Street fans spot CCTV blunder as Todd steals from builder’s yard

Coronation Street fans are a quick-witted bunch, and as a result, it took them no time at all to pick holes in Todd Grimshaw’s latest heist.

The Corrie conman, played by Gareth Pierce, broke into Ed Bailey’s builder’s yard and stole an expensive heat pump, escaping the scene of the crime in one of the hearses owned by the undertaker's.

Despite a close call – with Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) bursting into the yard before leaving again – Todd managed to get away with the deed scot-free.

Watching from home, Corrie fans were confused, as they felt the business would realistically have security cameras installed for safekeeping.

Taking to Twitter, viewers vented over the absence of security cameras, wondering about the likelihood of a camera being located somewhere on the street.

One penned: "I seem to remember there being CCTV cameras located outside of the builders yard #Corrie."

"Won’t they have CCTV outside the builders yard #Corrie," added a second.

And a third wondered: "No cctv in #corrie?"

"No cctv just a cheap chain and small lock lol you deserve to be broken into with that kind of security," wrote a fourth.
