Coronation Street fans were left scratching their heads on Wednesday night after Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) seemed to be turning over a new leaf.
Earlier in the double-bill, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) was arrested after cops realised he might not be telling the whole truth about his missing car – and the dent in the side.
Todd had been trying to blackmail David after realising Shona (Julia Goulding) was the one who ran him over, but Sarah (Tina O'Brian) had a go at him.
She tried to remind him that he used to be a good person, and that he was pushing everyone away from him.
And when David was let go by the police, he and Shona eventually realised that Todd might have had something to do with it.
He returned back to theirs and told them he was packing his bags and moving on, but not before revealing that he'd got them off the hook.
Viewers couldn't believe the apparent new Todd, and shared their thoughts on Twitter.
One said: "Well I never, Todd, the Saint, eh!"
A second wrote: "Aww, Todd trying to make amends."
Someone else tweeted: "Random act of kindness from Todd."
A fourth said: "Did Todd actually just do something… to help others? Mind blown."
And a fifth added: "Todd does the right thing. Shocker!"
Todd had told Shona and David: "I gave them a statement… the driver of the car who hit me was good looking, so it couldn't possibly have been you."
Before he added: "And it was a different model of a car."
The bad lad went on: "I shouldn't have tried to take advantage, I'm sorry."
Soon, word got back to Todd's mum Eileen (Sue Cleaver) that he was planning on leaving the street.
She spoke to Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) in the pub, who urged her to go after him – even if he wasn't the best person going – because he was her son, and Abi didn't have hers.
Eileen caught up with Todd at the tram stop and persuaded him not to go anywhere, even inviting him back to move in with her again.
But could this really be the start of a new Todd?
Or will he pull out some more tricks that could see David or Shona sent down after all?
