Christopher Maloney has been found safe after 'going missing' and failing to show up for a gig

The former X Factor star was set to take to the stage at London's Live at Zedel on Thursday evening alongside Gemma Oaten and Julie Atherton but was a no-show.

His friend, former Big Brother star Mark Byron raised the alarm on Twitter that no one had seen or heard from the 40-year-old.

He wrote: "If anyone has seen a Christopher Maloney please contact me as a matter of urgency!!! He has gone missing and not turned up for his gig we are all worried sick about him!!

"He said he's been robbed early today and not been contactable since!!!!!"

Alex Lee, who also appeared on Big Brother, retweeted the message and wrote: "Come home Chris Maloney!"

However, producers from theatre company Amigo Productions told OK! Online: "We've heard from him.

"We'll just say this… After initial concern when he didn't turn up to sound check after we had spoken earlier and he said he would be there.
"I am pleased to say that although he didn't turn up to the gig, I've heard from him and he isn't missing.
“A huge thank you to Gemma Oaten and Julie Atherton for putting on terrific show at the 11th hour to which they got a standing ovation.  The show must go on as they say!”

Chris still hasn't broken his silence on social media and his last tweet was yesterday, and his last tweet was about the Live at Zedel gig.

The star rose to fame on the 2012 series of The X Factor, where he finished in third place. e went on to appear on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016.

Earlier this year, Chris toured the country with former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kristina Rihanoff.

However he ended up getting stuck in a hotel bathroom in February, telling the Liverpool Echo afterwards: "I started having a panic attack, it was getting hot, the heater was on and there were no windows.

"I knew I needed to calm down because I just kept thinking there's no air in here, it's starting to go. I was banging and screaming for over an hour, but no one heard my cries for help. My hands were red and bruises started to show up I was banging that hard."

The Sun Online has contacted a representative for Christopher.
