‘Chaotic’ and drama-fuelled Love Island Australia is landing in the UK

Love Island UK might sadly be over for the summer, but fans won’t have long to wait before it fires up on our screens once more.

That’s because the chaotic and drama-fuelled Aussie version is set to air in the UK after Brits fell in love with the show, with many branding it more exciting to watch than the original.

The show, hosted by presenter Sophie Monk, will be airing on ITV’s sister channel ITVBe, as well as online via the ITV HUB, from Monday August 13, according to TV Tonight .

This comes after British viewers insisted that the "ruthless" Aussie version "wiped the floor" with the UK show.

And for those worrying about narrator Iain Stirling’s absence, it looks like there’s no need to fear as Irish presenter Eoghan McDermott is just as funny.

Some fans were even suggesting that he should have won the $50k prize money himself after he "made the show".

But viewers were even more excited when they actually got to see him when the programme ended, with one tweeting: "Best part this entire season is FINALLY getting to see voiceover guy! #LoveIslandAU."

The Love Island brand has gone from strength to strength this year, with the UK version scoring record-breaking numbers for ITV2.

Series 4 rounded off with a massive 3.6 million viewers tuning in – ITV2’s biggest audience ever. It was also the most watched show in its slot across all channels last night.

In comparison to previous years – this year upped last year’s final by 1million viewers, upped series 2 by 2.2million viewers and beat the first series in the ratings stakes by 2.8million.

But despite the impressive numbers, some fans complained the series final was ‘dull’ and called the winners ‘too predictable’, with Jack and Dani securing almost 80% of the vote.

And an American version could also be coming to our screens very soon. A US version is reportedly under discussion with various American networks.
