Celebrity Big Brother complaints soar to over 25,000 for Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas incident

Ofcom has now received more than 25,000 complaints over the Celebrity Big Brother incident between Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas.

Last week, the broadcasting regulator confirmed to Digital Spy that it received 11,215 complaints about the episode.

“We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate,” a spokesperson for Ofcom stated.

However, that number has now risen to 25,257, as viewers watched Roxanne claim that Ryan had physically struck her during a play-fight.

Appearing on Jeremy Vine yesterday (September 3) in her first TV interview since leaving the house, Roxanne apologised over the “punch” accusations and said that she “got it wrong”.

And, in a pre-recorded interview that aired during last night’s CBB eviction show, Emma Willis challenged Roxanne on her perspective of the incident.

“Watching it feels like a completely different scenario to how it felt at the time,” Roxanne began. “How it felt when he did it, it hurt. I can’t prove a feeling – no-one can. And the more I thought about it, it became heightened and I just convinced myself.

“And when I watched it back – the first thing I did when I got out was watch that, and immediately I realised.”

Meanwhile, CBB has shared the clip that it showed Roxanne right before her interview with Emma Willis.
