Celebrity Big Brother 2018 airs footage Stormy Daniels filmed before quitting as Rylan Clark-Neal explains all

Stormy Daniels finally made her hugely-hyped appearance on Celebrity Big Brother on Friday night (August 17), but not under the circumstances anyone wanted.

The adult film star involved in one of Donald Trump’s many controversies was to have been the cornerstone housemate of the series, with Channel 5 reportedly picking its Eye of the Storm theme around her stage name.

However, fans were totally baffled when Stormy — real name Stephanie A. Gregory Clifford — failed to turn up on launch night along with Kirstie Alley, Ryan Thomas, Gabby Allen and all the rest.

There were conflicting explanations all throughout the day on Friday, especially when Stormy also pulled out of a scheduled appearance on Loose Women again at the very last minute.

Stormy did speak with Loose Women presenter Jane Moore backstage and explained that she was being blocked from coming on-air, but said that she’d backed out of Celebrity Big Brother over custody concerns with her daughter back in America.

Channel 5 posted its own version of events on Twitter, but had Rylan delve into the situation deeper on Bit on the Side on Friday when the show opened with the VT that Stormy filmed before dropping out:

In a clip scored by Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’, Stormy introduces herself as the “adult film star who brought trouble to the White House” and says that the scandal has “drastically changed” her life.

“Everybody loves a good scandal, especially if it involves sex,” she says. “I know a lot of people think they know everything about me, based on things they’ve read or their own opinions, but I think I’m about to prove everyone wrong.”

Sadly, that was not to be. Bit on the Side cut back to the studio where Rylan Clark-Neal gave Big Brother’s version of how it all went wrong with Stormy on launch night.

“Five hours before showtime, Stormy informed us that she wished to simply appear on launch night and then leave,” Rylan explained. “Big Brother tried to work out a fair compromise with her, but in the end for Big Brother, launch night is about housemates moving into the house, not about celebrities pulling out.

“Now, the reports that Stormy asked for more money are completely false. And reports that Big Brother sought to control Stormy to achieve a specific outcome are also completely false. There you go. We had her. She changed her mind. Then, she went.

“It wasn’t how we wanted it to go, but always remember: No housemate is bigger than Big Brother.”

We have a suspicion that we still haven’t heard the last of this controversy…

Celebrity Big Brother continues on Saturday night (August 18) at the later time of 10pm for highlights of the first full day of house action.
