More DC-related project is coming to the small screen. A new report suggests that CBS has given a pilot production commitment to “Secret Six”, a drama based on DC Comics of the same name.

The upcoming series has Rick Muirragui (“Suits“) attached as the writer. The series is set to follow six morally ambiguous strangers, each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts, who are brought together by an enigmatic figure who blackmails them into working as a team to expose the corruption of the corporate and political elite.

In the comics, the Secret Six were are all brought together by a mysterious individual named Mockingbird. They first appeared during the Silver Age in 1968, created by E. Nelson Bridwell and Frank Singer.

Over the years, some popular DC Comics characters have been members of the Secret Six. That includes Bane, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, the Mad Hatter, Catman and the Penguin. However, it’s still kept under wraps which characters that would appear on the CBS take on the comics.

In addition to penning the script, Muirragui will serve as executive producer alongside Doozer Productions’ Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold. Warner Bros. Television will produce.

In addition to “Suits”, Muirragui’s other credits include “Men of a Certain Age“, “The Good Guys“, “Charmed” and “Past Life“. Meanwhile, Lawrence is best known for creating the hit comedy series “Scrubs“.

If the show is picked to a series, “Secret Six” will join other live-action series based on a DC team. “Titans” and its spin-off “Doom Patrol” are coming to DC Universe streaming service. “Titans” will debut on October 12 with “Doom Patrol” premiering sometime next year. Meanwhile, The CW’s “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” is set to return for its fourth season later this month.
