CARLA Connor breaks down in tears as she begs her on off boyfriend Peter Barlow not to leave Weatherfield in tonight’s emotional scenes.
Carla manages to stop Peter before he leaves with his dad, Ken, and pours out her heart in an attempt to make stop him leaving to live in Southampton for good.
Her last ditch effort to salvage their relationship will almost make her miss her own brother’s wedding.
Getting into his car, Carla, played by Alison King, tearfully pleads with Peter: “I’d rather miss the wedding than lose you again. Please don’t go.”
But Peter is adamant that their love only brings out the worst in one another, with both battling alcohol addiction.
“I still crave it every day but I can’t because it’ll kill me, and I’m not being funny, but it’s the same with you,” he tells her, adding, “I’ll never stop loving you but I can’t go back there."
Ken then takes over the driver’s seat to chauffeur his son to the airport.
However, it seems his great escape will be short-lived as Chris Gascoyne has revealed his troubled character will be hitting the bottle again following the fatal collapse of the factory this week.
He said: "He is not on the street when the factory collapses, he has just had his meeting with Carla, she has left then he hears about what has happened from Daniel, he doesn’t know whether to go back to the street or not but he knows that Carla is going to need him. Ken tells him he needs to make a decision."
