BRITAIN's Got Talent star Siobhan Phillips wants to win for her daughter after admitting her struggle to raise a child on-board cruise ships.
The musical comedian, 42, had all four judges on their feet after she sang about life as a mum while playing the piano on Saturday night's record-breaking show.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun Online, Siobhan has told how her two-year-old daughter Cerys is her inspiration after being forced to spend time apart as she sang abroad to make ends meet.
"Becoming a mum has been a big thing for me," said Siobhan, who became a mum at 40.
"Its been a difficult journey because you want to raise a decent human being.
"Sometimes you do feel like it's a massive responsibility. I used to be partying in Monte Carlo or Rio and being crazy. Now I've got to make sure she's my first priority.
"You do change. You become less selfish.
"I love it because I'm doing it for her. I want her to be proud of me.
"I want her to know I'm not just her waitress, I want her to know mum does this."
Despite rave reviews since Siobhan performed to 9.7million people on telly on Ant McPartlin's comeback show, Siobhan says daughter Cerys is often her toughest critic.
"She's been on a few ships and she heckles me," says Siobhan.
"I speak to the audience and she'll shout 'don't talk to them, talk to me'.
"She's my worst critic but I just love her, I love her to bits.
"When she tells me she loves me it makes my heart melt. Even for a hard northerner like me."
Despite her effortless natural charm, Siobhan has spent 25 years grafting overseas for her big break – and says being on BGT is a dream come true.
She said: "It's surreal, but it's what I've always wanted.
"You can be successful doing what you do, but if you're not seen on television you're missing out on a wider audience. It's a dream come true and a total whirlwind.
"Since I've had my little girl I've wanted to work on land again, close to home.
"Sometimes I can take her with me, but when I can't I don't like leaving her.
"I want to be able to go off and do my gig then come home because although I love being a mum, there's only so much Peppa Pig I can take.
"I want to get back to doing what I do best. It's a juggling act for any mum."
The 42-year-old says she has taken inspiration from Peter Kay's alter ego Geraldine McQueen – but has actually been described as the comic's love child instead.
She said: "Someone on Twitter said I'm the love child of Victoria Wood and Peter Kay.
"That's quite horrifying because I think I'm the same age as Peter.
"But I do model myself on his alter ego Geraldine. I look very much like her and can sing like her.
"Before I've had a shave I look a lot like Peter."
Despite joking about her looks, Siobhan has told how she has often faced rejection during her career for not meeting stereotypes.
Last week James Corden revealed he wrote Gavin & Stacey to give himself a part after being ignored for TV roles because showbiz "prefers skinnies".
"It struck a chord with me," admits Siobhan.
"We do live in an Instagram society that demands we have a certain look.
"When you're not fitting into the boxes you do have to create an opportunity for yourself.
"This is a good time to be original.
"I don't try to be something I'm not because I don't fit into any of the usual stereotypes.
"Now I've been accepted for being me."
When quizzed on whether she can take the BGT crown at this year's final, the mum-of-one said: "I'd love to win or even to get to the final, that would be an achievement.
"We need humour in this country more than we've ever needed humour. Maybe this is my time. The country needs me."
