Brighton adventure brings Juliet & Peri closer in Hollyoaks but big news follows

Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) and Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) take a trip to Brighton in Hollyoaks next week, determined to make memories that will last a lifetime ahead of more news.

The week in question is a big one for Juliet, who has another PET scan to determine if her cancer treatment is working.

Peri, meanwhile, is taken by surprise as her girlfriend shows quite an interest in James (Gregory Finnegan) and Ste Hay’s (Kieron Richardson) wedding planning, before opening up to Peri about her difficult childhood, revealing she’s always been keen to go to the seaside.

This revelation leaves Peri with food for thought, as she subsequently surprises Juliet with the idea of going to Brighton while they await news of the scan results. James is apprehensive, concerned about putting his sister’s health in danger, but after some encouraging words from Ste, he agrees to foot the bill for the trip.

Peri pulls out all the stops to create an unforgettable trip for Juliet, as they head off to Brighton, before taking in the view from their deluxe suite.

The couple have the time of their lives during the trip, with a prize at one of the arcades leading to a special romantic moment on the Brighton beach.

Determined to make the most of every moment, Peri and Juliet dance the night away at a club – that is, until Peri realises that all of their belongings have vanished!

The pair are in need of a saviour, and that saviour soon comes calling in the form of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard, who comes to their rescue.

The following day, Peri, Juliet and Danny Beard wake up with serious hangovers, but despite being on a tight deadline, Danny takes the couple back to Hollyoaks village in their Drag Wagon.

Peri and Danny resolve to make the most of the drive back to the Chester in a bid to keep Jules’ mind off her scan results, and thus Danny livestreams to their fans, which leaves Juliet upset after an offensive comments are made.

But some words of wisdom and a fabulous makeover prove to be exactly what Juliet needs, as she returns to the village to get her results.

Just what news awaits Juliet?

That remains to be seen, but Peri subsequently breaks down to Nadira Valli (Ashling O’Shea), as the pair confide in one another.

Niamh Blackshaw and Ruby O’Donnell, who play Juliet and Peri respectively, headed to Brighton earlier this year to film scenes for the special episodes.

‘[Brighton] is very much a week where it’s like: “we’re alive and we’re happy to be alive,’ actress Niamh told of the scenes

‘And life can be really rough but we’re just going to find the fun in it for a week”.

‘They’re definitely out of their comfort zone, Juliet and Peri, and they’re definitely thrown into some interesting environments and meet some interesting people, but it’s really important, I think, for both Juliet and Peri to have this time together at this point in their lives.’

One to watch: Monday March 13 at 7pm on E4.
