Brie Larson Makes Her Debut As Captain Marvel, And Her Suit Does Not Disappoint

It’s been over two years since we first learned Brie Larson would suit up as Captain Marvel.

Now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we officially have our first glimpse of Larson as Captain Marvel, as well as her human alias, Carol Danvers. A bad-ass Air Force pilot, Danvers becomes an über powerful Marvel force when an alien device mutates her DNA. In fact, Captain Marvel is “as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie,” according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

And, just like that, we now have an urge to buy a leather biker jacket. Captain Marvel’s suit is looking rather badass, too.

The stand-alone film, co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson), will see the part-human, part-alien superhero go head-to-head with Mar-Vell (Jude Law), Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), and an army of Skrulls. Nothing our girl can’t handle.

According to the EW article, “Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She’s left her earthly life behind to join an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of [shape-shifting] Skrulls.”

We had a feeling the Oscar winner had something up her sleeve when she tweeted this last night:

While we don’t know if CM successfully broke the internet, we think she came pretty damn close. Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019.
