Bridgerton sex scenes: Fans warn ‘don’t watch with your mum’ over Daphne and the Duke romp

Bridgerton: Daphne runs out of the ball

Daphne Bridgerton (played by Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Hastings’ (Rege-Jean Page) intimate moments have left some Netflix viewers rather red-faced after they caught up with the series with their parents. While the beloved couple didn’t get off to the best of starts as they both believed the other detested them, once they announced their love for each other, Daphne and Simon couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

In the sixth instalment of Bridgerton, Daphne and Simon are seen romping around the grounds of the Duke’s home for almost 20 minutes.

The pair can’t keep their hands off one another and one particularly racy moment in the library left fans blushing.

Some have been warned they shouldn’t watch with their parents, posting on Twitter: “This Ep6 of #Bridgerton is not for children. This Duke knows his onions.”

Another added: “OMG the love making on #Bridgerton ep6.”

A third shared: “Watching ep6 of #Bridgerton and really wanna show my mum the Castle Howard bits (because she loves it and goes regularly) but maybe not the episode to watch with ya mum.”

“Just got to Ep 6 of Bridgerton, the honeymoon episode…wow the sex scenes have certainly fired up…too much for lunch break viewing me thinks!,” someone else posted online.

The cast have been very open about filming the racy scenes and now it has been revealed the stars were told to “go easy on the bedposts”.

Director Julie Anne Robinson explained they had to be very “delicate” with the furniture when filming in country homes.

She told Deadline: “So in the Duke’s bedroom, which was in Castle Howard, [Dynevor and Page] spent a lot of time in that bed, and there were room monitors in the room when we were doing the sex scenes, and they wouldn’t leave.

“The idea of a closed set is absolutely sacrosanct.

“But for these room monitors, their jobs were more sacrosanct to them. So they were in the scenes with us.

“We would be shooting a sex scene and they would say, ‘Can you go easy on the bed, go easy on the bedpost?’”

Meanwhile, actress Phoebe has revealed what it was like watching “awkward” sex scenes with her mum, Coronation Street’s Sally.

She explained: “I’m happy for Mum and Dad to see it, because they know the industry, and they know how hard I worked, and how much it meant to me getting that role.

“But not my grandparents. And with my younger brother… well, it’s awkward,” she told The Guardian.

The actress added she rehearsed the sex scenes with co-star Rege like “fight scenes”.

“I would literally know exactly where a guy was going to put his hand at what moment,” she detailed.

“And we’d have props, like mats, that went in between us. It was more intricately choreographed than our dance routines in a way, so I never really felt exposed at all.”

In fact the scene which was most uncomfortable for Phoebe was when she entered a ballroom alone.

Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix now.
