Brendan Fraser to Get Some Action by Joining ‘Soldiers of Fortune’ TV Remake

The former star of ‘The Mummy’ has been added to the cast ensemble that comprises of Tom Welling, Elena Anaya and Said Taghmaoui for the 10-part series titled ‘The Professionals’.

AceShowbizBrendan Fraser is jumping into action to star in a TV remake of 2012 movie “Soldiers of Fortune“.

“The Mummy” actor will star alongside “Smallville“‘s Tom Welling, Elena Anaya from “Wonder Woman“, and Said Taghmaoui from “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” in the 10-part series.

The loose remake of the Christian Slater-fronted film will be renamed “The Professionals“, and is set against a backdrop of international espionage and corporate sabotage in the 21st century’s privately-funded space race.

Fraser plays billionaire futurist Peter Swann, whose advanced medical satellite explodes on deployment – leaving him to turn to former counterintelligence officer Captain Vincent Corbo for help.

Corbo is portrayed by Welling, while Anaya takes on the role of Fraser’s onscreen fiancee, Dr. Graciela Davila.

Filming has already begun in Ireland and South Africa, and the first three episodes of “The Professionals” will be shot by “Spooks: The Greater Good” (a.k.a. “MI-5“) director Bharat Nalluri, reports Deadline.com.
