Big Brother has broken one of its cardinal rules for Akeem — ruffling long-time viewers in the process. But after the way it all worked out, maybe rules were made to be broken?
Despite praising the show for going back to basics in early weeks, fans have raised some serious complaints more recently for twists that have meddled with the public voting and denied viewers a chance to even vote at all in one of last week’s evictions.
The latest offence came when Big Brother offered to give Akeem a key piece of information from the outside world for bidding the highest for the Power of Knowledge. Many fans called foul because one of the fundamental rules of Big Brother has always been no outside knowledge.
What’s done was done, and Akeem got to ask viewers a Yes or No question: ‘Do they feel he deserved a place in the upcoming Big Brother finale?’ Fresh off losing this week’s Gamechanger, Akeem got his answer in Wednesday’s (October 24) highlight show when he was called to the Diary Room.
“Big Brother can tell you that of the majority that responded, the answer is: YES,” he was told.
The news cheered Akeem right up, as he beamed: “Even if I go on Friday, to know that the public still likes me, it really means a lot.”
In spite of those initial protests, lots of fans were really happy to see Akeem get a confidence boost:
Unfortunately, Akeem remains on the eviction block for Friday. He’ll be going head-to-head (to-head) in the next public vote against Tomasz and Cian.
Big Brother continues on Thursday (October 25) at 10pm on Channel 5, followed by Bit on the Side at 11.05pm.
