BGT act Andrei Gomonov admits fears he could have killed Simon Cowell tonight

Simon Cowell could have lost his eye or even his life during Britain’s Got Talent in scenes set to air tonight.

This evening’s instalment of the biggest variety show in the world sees the music mogul confronted by knife thrower Andrei Gomonov, who hurled blades at Simon, 58, in a bid to win £250,000 and the chance to perform for the Queen.

Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams were suitably horrified as slam after slam, knives surrounded Simon’s body on a platter.

Although, had the father to little Eric Cowell been told how nervous Andrei was, he might have offered David up for the performance instead.

‘This was high stakes. It was more dangerous because I didn’t know what Simon would do,’ Andrei said. ‘I know my partner. She knows not to be scared and not to move.

‘But I didn’t know if Simon might move. I worried I might leave him seriously injured. I had small nerves. I’m a professional, I must be ready and keep my focus.’

This year’s BGT has already proven to be the most dangerous series yet with ITV being forced to issue a warning ahead of Jonathan Goodwin last week after he did this:

The expert escapologist was strapped into a straight jacket by members of the production team and then had petrol poured over him before he set himself on fire.

‘This is ridiculous,’ cried presenter Declan Donnelly from the side of the stage as paramedics, fire wardens, health and safety officials looked on from the sidelines.

Britain’s Got Talent shared the thrilling video on the show’s official Twitter, instructing viewers: ‘DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!

‘Jonathan Goodwin sets himself ON FIRE in incredible escape act! Watch Jonathan attempt the unthinkable – escaping from a straight jacket, while hanging upside down and on fire.’

Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
