Fans of ITV’s The Chase often wonder how fierce the rivalries are behind-the-scenes for the show’s brainy stars.

But Jenny Ryan, aka The Vixen, has exclusively told OK! that this couldn’t be further from the truth and that they actually have to “look out for each other.”

Opening up about her relationship with the other Chasers – including Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha and newest recruit Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis – Jenny said the team are actually “like family.”

She told us: “I always say my job is very stressful! But together we are like a family who support each other.”

Jenny continued that the six stars have no choice but to lean on one another, as they are the only other people who understand the job that they’re in and the pressures that they face.

She explains: “We’re in a very unique position. There’s nobody else in the country apart from the six of us who has our job. So we have to look after each other.”

And while the fan favourite, who has been on the show hosted by Bradley Walsh since 2015, is very happy being front and centre of the show, she also went on to reveal she has big ambitions of her own for the future.

Jenny says: “I’d love to be the next Jeremy Paxman. We’ve not got enough female quizmasters on TV.”

She continues: “In fact, diversity is not well-represented at all. It does infuriate me when a new quiz show gets announced and it’s another middle-aged white man as the host.”

Putting her name well and truly in the hat for the future, Jenny adds: “I’ve got the skills and I’ve got the authority. It could be me.”

This comes after Jenny’s co-star Shaun also revealed there wasn’t huge competition between the Chasers when the cameras stop rolling.

When quizzed on Lorraine by stand-in host Ranvir Singh, Shaun answered: “You know what? Surprisingly we are not competitive.”

The Dark Destroyer added: “Ever since we’ve all become chasers we’ve all had the attitude one for all and all for one, like the three musketeers. We do get along well.”

“People might not believe us, but we support each other whether we win or lose.”
