BBC Breakfast’s Roger Johnson and Nina Warhurst replaced in presenter shakeup

BBC Breakfast presenters Roger Johnson and Nina Warhurst were missing from Sunday morning's show and replaced by journalists Chris Mason and Katherine Downes.

Roger Johnson and Nina Warhurst usually present BBC Breakfast on the famous red sofa at the weekends, but appeared to be missing from the studio.

Instead, Chris Mason posted a photo of him and Katherine in the studio on social media this morning, saying: "Good morning from @BBCBreakfast!

"Would love it if you could join @KDownesBBC and me @BBCOne between now and nine."

Chris and Katherine led the programme, discussing topics such as the Climate Change Deal at the COP26 conference and the total raised by BBC weather presenter Owain Wyn Evans, during his epic 24-hour drumathon for Children in Need.

They revealed that the total raised by Owain now stood at over £2 million, and shared a video from the presenter as part of the programme, thanking everyone for their support.

In the video, Owain said: "I've been crying, I've had a bit of sleep and I've been crying some more.

"When I first said I wanted to do this drumathon, I would have been happy to raise anything."

He added that his personal target, which he hadn't previously revealed, was £250,000.

A tired and emotional Owain ended the video saying: "I can't get my head around it. Thank you so much."

After showing the video message, presenter Chris Mason said, "what an incredible effort," adding that the money will go towards supporting music therapy sessions.
