Batman's Ben Affleck heads for meeting with Warner Bros amid quitting rumours

The saga of Batfleck is not over – despite a number of hints suggesting otherwise – as Ben Affleck has been spotted heading to a very important meeting.

Paparazzi shots show the Batman actor arriving to meet with Warner Bros executives just yesterday, suggesting the actor’s involvement in the Worlds of DC has been clarified.

One way or another.

While we continue to (im)patiently wait for official news on Ben Affleck’s incarnation of the Dark Knight, there’s nothing we can do but pore over the evidence suggesting he’s out.

Just three months ago, it was reported that director Matt Reeves had turned in a draft of The Batman‘s first act to Warner Bros that was all about a younger Dark Knight.

Beyond that, rumours of Batfleck’s departure have been swirling for a while now, most recently with a shake-up in DC Films’ top team, signalling a potential new era for the Batman arc.

If a new Batman is on the horizon, there are already a couple of actors in the running – whether they know they are or not.

Earlier this month, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington was put forward as one of Warner Bros’ choices for the role, but the actor’s rep later confirmed they’d heard nothing about it.

Jon Hamm’s name has also been whispered in the same breath as Batman’s, something the Mad Men star would actually be up for. “I’d probably fit the suit,” the self-proclaimed comic book fan said recently.

“And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not?”

Why not, indeed!

Justice League, Batfleck’s last outing (or not), is out now on DVD or Blu-ray.
