Bake Off fans livid as beloved baker 'robbed' & sent home in 'crazy' elimination – despite co-star serving 'raw' bread | The Sun

BAKE Off fans have been left livid after a beloved baker was 'robbed'and sent home in a 'crazy' elimination – despite their co-star serving 'raw' bread.

Last night's episode of the Channel 4 show was Bread Week, and the bakers felt the pressure to impress the 'Godfather of Bread' – judge Paul Hollywood.

They were tasked with making a cottage loaf for their Signature bake, while the Technical saw them tackle Devonshire splits.

Abbi and Dan struggled with the two challenges, with Dan forgetting to put caster sugar in his buns and Abbi's cottage loaf coming out like a bread frisbee.

Rowan also struggled during the challenges, with his cottage loaf rising way too much, while his Showstopper tree design looked stunning but failed on the taste and texture front.

Meanwhile, Abbi's tree design had nice flavours according to the judges, but again, the bake wasn't right.

Dan also struggled in the Showstopper challenge, giving himself too much work to do in trying to spell out the word 'Pizza' with his plaited loafs.

In the end, he was forced to serve some of them completely under-cooked, with Paul immediately picking up on the fact they were virtually "raw".

But when decision time came, it was Abbi who was sent home, and Bake Off viewers were furious on her behalf.

Taking to X -formerly Twitter – one wrote: "Not sure why Abbi went in bake off when someone forgot to put their caster sugar in the technical and served up totally raw bread In the showstopper. Good luck Abbi x."

Another added alongside a gif of Grumpy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: "Why on earth get rid of #Abbi? Yes, she had a bad week but she's a better baker over all than a number of others. Very grumpy now!"

A third raged: "Crazy that Abbi went home, and not Dan who simply wrote pizza with unbaked bread!"

Meanwhile a fourth tweeted: "Justice for Abbi, Dan was did worse overall than her, he was worse on technical and his showstopper was worse?! Paul always seems to decide who's going by the end of the technical no matter how well people do in the showstopper."

They weren't alone with their thoughts, as another mused: "So unfair that Abbi has gone. I think it really should have been Dan even though he’s wonderful.

"Abbi’s flavours and design were really, really good and Dan just wrote pizza with his bread. Paul seems to have issues with people who are a bit different, or is it just me?"

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4.
