'Axed' Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn denies that OnlyFans account is porn

Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn has claimed that the pictures she shares on her OnlyFans account are ‘no more explicit’ than those included in the soap’s own calendars.

The actress, who portrays Mandy Richardson, exited the show earlier this week, after she clashed with bosses over her account on the subscription site.

She had launched an account with the aim of sharing her ‘racier’ pictures with fans, telling fans that she had ‘thought long and hard’ about the decision, explaining that she wants to take back control of her image.

Hollyoaks bosses clashed with Sarah over her decision, and a resolution could not be reached, resulting in her leaving the soap.

The Channel 4 serial drama said in a statement that they take their responsibility to their young audience ‘very seriously’, and therefore they do not allow cast members to be active on ‘certain 18+ websites’.

But fans were not pleased with the decision, with several branding Hollyoaks ‘hypocritical’ considering that their own cast used to pose for ‘babes’ and ‘hunks’ calendars.

Sarah, 40, made the comparison herself, telling The Sun that her OnlyFans account is ‘no more explicit’ than the calendars the soap itself previously produced.

‘The pictures I’ve put on OnlyFans are no more explicit than the sort of things I’ve done in the past for magazines and even for Hollyoaks’ own official calendar,’ she told the publication.

‘And I thought long and hard about the decision to join the site and had a number of conversations with my husband about it.

‘But once I understood it, I realised it is not just adult content. There’s lots of other stuff on there, including food, health, fitness — and I decided to go for it.’

The soap star has portrayed Mandy throughout various stints on Hollyoaks, and revealed that she has been left ‘disappointed’ by what’s happened.

‘I’m disappointed it has come to this, after so many years,’ she added. ‘I’ve loved being on Hollyoaks and I will miss the amazing cast and crew very much. But I feel like I had to take a stand.’
