Avengers: Endgame First Reactions Twitter Roundup

Certain members of the press had the chance to attend an early screening of Avengers: Endgame. Their reactions are officially in, and it’s looking good for the latest outing of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Reactions to the twenty-second installment in the MCU are largely positive, heaping praise upon what most consider to be a more than worthy culmination of what has come before. Many noted it’s a very different film from Infinity War, and others suggested it’s best for viewers to watch the rest of the MCU in preparation. We’re in the Endgame now.

Cinema Blend’s Eric Eisenberg said Endgame is “everything you want it to be and more,” calling the film a “perfect reflection on the last 11 years that pays off everything in the best way possible. Without question my new favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Stunned.”

Fandango’s Erik Davis considers the film a “masterful epic – a true culmination of 22 films that not only concludes the story, but expands upon it.” In subsequent tweets, he went on to say Endgame isn’t Infinity War Part 2, instead they “compliment each other in all the best ways.” Ultimately, he suggests watching all of the MCU prior to Endgame.

Gizmodo’s Germain Lussier said of the film “It’s surprising in ways I never saw coming and satisfying in ways I didn’t realize I needed.” Despite its length and a few hiccups, he claims Endgame is “everything you’re hoping for and more.”

Collider’s Perri Nemiroff called the film “A LOT. Too much at times.” Despite this, the film has a huge payoff for the franchise, and contains one of Nemiroff’s favorite shots in the MCU.

Collider’s Steven Weintraub said the film is “loaded with incredible set pieces and tons of small character moments that leave you wanting more.”

In a more subdued take, Forbes’ Scott Mendelson said the film “doesn’t make a ton of sense,” noting that the action is a “comedown,” but called the film unquestionably fun.

IGN’s Laura Prudom called it a “fitting culmination of a decade of cinema. Powerful, emotional, imperfect, but what a legacy.” Keep an eye out for IGN’s official review of the film tomorrow.
