Ant McPartlin makes fun of I'm A Celebrity's Anne Hegerty in hilarious throwback from Saturday Night Takeaway

The former Byker Grove star, 43, dressed up as Anne Hegerty, 60, on his show Saturday Night Takeaway back in 2015.

Television presenter Ant wore an almost identical costume to the one The Governess wears on quiz show The Chase, with a black and white shirt and bow tie and a black belt high up on the waist.

He had on a wig with the hair combed back just like Anne does her hair when she appears on her programme.

Saturday Night Takeaway fans loved Ant as The Governess at the time, with many viewers taking to Twitter to express their feelings.

One person wrote: “I can’t take Ant seriously as The Governess, brilliant! @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway #thedisgrace.”

Another viewer commented: “Laughing myself silly watching @antanddec The Chase! Ant genuinely looked surprised when The Governess showed up!”

While another person remarked: “Ant McPartlin from The Chase is TERRIFYING.”

Meanwhile, whilst Anne may not be making an appearance on Saturday Night Takeaway anytime soon, she may be making a return to The Chase faster than we think after she appeared tearful shortly after entering the I’m A Celeb jungle last week.

After a long day of various challenges, the star told her campmates: “I’m really close to saying I can’t do this.”

Show bosses are closely monitoring Anne as they fear she may be ready to quit.

An I’m A Celeb source said: “She was distressed after the first day and found it a bit much.

“Producers wanted to ensure she was fine, so have been checking in with her.

“They didn’t want to push her too soon and were pleased her teammates rallied round her. She’s explained her autism means she struggles in some social situations and can need a timeout.

“Producers want to ensure she has space. Her wellbeing is of the utmost importance.”
