American Pickers fans ‘congratulate’ Mike Wolfe’s major milestone

American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe shows off guest house refurb

Since 2010, History viewers have been glued to the screens as Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz travel around America re-purposing and collecting rare artefacts. Mike released a novel about his adventures in 2013 and recently celebrated his book’s 10-year anniversary.

Mike lifted the lid on his love of picking and encouraged children to treasure hunt with his book, Kid Pickers.

The novel promised to teach youngsters “how to turn junk into treasure”, which is what he excelled at on his show, American Pickers.

Together with Frank, the duo venture into people’s homes, barns and sheds to pick any collectable items the owners don’t know what to do with.

Mike and Frank visit everyone from amateurs, to collectors and hoarders.

Alongside their first book, American Pickers Guide to Picking, Frank went on to release his children’s book in 2013.

The co-author Lily Sprengelmeye revealed the novel had reached 10 years old since its publication and took to Instagram with excitement.

She posted a selfie of herself posing with the book with a lengthy caption which was reposted by the American Picker star, who added: “Happy 10 years to the kid pickers book!”

The caption read: “Happy 10 year book anniversary to Kid Pickers with my dear friend @mikewolfeamericanpicker.

“I was privileged enough to get to co-author this book for aspiring young collectors and Kid Pickers everywhere.

“My dad has had an antique store in Galena, IL for over 40 years and that is where I first became a Kid Picker myself.”

Lily continued: “Mike has been a supporter of my dad’s shop ever since I was a young child.
