American Horror Stories has gone down a huge hit with fans since it arrived on Hulu. The show is a spin-off to the classic American Horror Story franchise and the first season included some sinister tales. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about what to expect from season two and the release date.

When is American Horror Stories season 2 out?

The first season of American Horror Stories has been airing weekly on Hulu in the US and will be coming to Disney Plus in the UK as a Star Original.

The Ryan Murphy spin-off features a new story with each episode and the series has redefined the horror genre with its quirky stories.

FX said American Horror Stories was the most successful launch of any FX on Hulu series to date.

As for a season two release date, the next instalment will be arriving on Hulu and Disney Plus in 2022.

At this moment in time, no official release date has been given, but Express.co.uk will update this story when more information comes to light.

Who is in the cast of American Horror Stories season 2?

As news of the new series has only just come to light, the cast list has not been announced yet.

The first season brought back some familiar faces including Matt Bomer, Billie Lourd, John Carroll Lynch and Naomi Grossman.

With this in mind, hopefully season two will revive some more fan-favourite characters.

Also starring in the first season were Danny Trejo, Aaron Tveit, Paris Jackson, Madison Bailey and Virginia Gardner.

As the anthology tells a new story with each episode, it is unlikely any of these five will return.

Is there a trailer for American Horror Stories season 2?

At this moment in time, there is no trailer for the second outing just yet, and fans will have to wait until 2022 for more information.

However, Murphy shared an update on Twitter with the message: “The stories don’t stop here. #AHStories will return for another season.”

He shared a montage from the first season, which ended with a message confirming the hit horror show had been renewed.

Hundreds of fans took to the comments to share their thoughts, with one saying: “Yay! But please more new stories and less murder house episodes. I’ve enjoyed the new bite-sized stories.”

Another said: “Stories were amazing & loved the opening credits for each one, with that all familiar music, can’t wait for season 2.”

What will happen in American Horror Stories season 2?

As news of the new season has only just been announced, it is difficult to say what season two will entail.

The first season consists of 16 episodes, so hopefully the second series will follow the same pattern.

The anthology concept is likely to continue, with new stories and characters taking the lead with each episode.

On the day of the season two renewal, Murphy announced more American Story spin-offs were in the pipeline.

American Sports Story and American Love Story will follow the same limited series format.

American Sports Story will focus on a major sporting event from around the world and retell the tale from different perspectives.

The first season will follow the life and death of NFL star Aaron Hernandez, and it will be based on the podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc.

Meanwhile, American Love Story will retell tales of real-life romances, such as John F Kennedy Jr’s marriage to Carolyn Bessette.

They both died in a plane crash in 1999.

American Horror Stories season 1 airs weekly on Hulu.
