AJ Pritchard reveals whether he’ll return to Strictly after Pasha’s shock exit

AJ Pritchard has opened up about whether he will return to Strictly Come Dancing this year.

This comes after fellow professional Pasha Kovalev announced that he was quitting the BBC dancing competition after eight years.

The 24-year-old appeared on Lorraine when he was probed about whether he would be back dancing on the show this year.

He told Lorraine Kelly that nothing had been confirmed, saying: "We’re still in talks, it’s the best show in the world and I would love to come back.

AJ appeared on the ITV daytime show with mum Debi to promote Dementia UK’s Time for a Cuppa campaignin a bid to raise awareness for the charity.

His grandmother had been diagnosed with dementia in 2006 and her husband of 67 years cares for her.

Debi explained: "Anything in her long-term memory she can remember… now shes kind of child-like and happy."

She added: "If people around her are not nice it scares her. "We’re very lucky she recognises us."

Debi also got emotional when Lorraine brought up AJ’s attack.

Grabbing onto his hand, she said: "I can talk about it now but it was hard but it was so senseless."

*Lorraine airs weekdays at 8pm on ITV
