Coronation Street fans have been gripped for months, desperate to find out who Stephen Reid’s next victim will be on the cobbles.

Since he returned to the ITV soap last year, the vile businessman (played by Todd Boyce) has taken the lives of three people in order to complete his sinister scheme.

Fans have been racking their brains to try and work out who his next victim will be and when will he be caught by the police.

But he might not be the only killer on the long-running show this year, after AI weighed in on who it thinks could be the next serial killer.

Daily Star has put one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI through its paces to find out who could be the next cobbles killer.

When asked which resident on the street could be the next serial killer on the sow, the programme predicted a handful of possible killers who could follow in Stephen’s bloody footsteps.

The first character it suggested would have the stomach to be a cold-blooded killer is fan-favourite character Alya Nazir (Sair Khan).

It explained: “Alya has been through a lot in recent years, and she’s definitely capable of violence.

“She has been involved in a number of violent incidents, most recently when she was stabbed by Blake in extreme terrorist attack.

“Earlier this year, she also refused to help her ex-boyfriend Ryan Connor when he wanted to rekindle their relationship after he was involved in an acid attack.

“The resident could snap and become a serial killer if she’s pushed too far,” it warned.

Another unsuspecting resident the artificially intelligent programme believes could take a dark turn is café worker Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher).

The raven-haired beauty has had a difficult few years on the soap but has slowly managed to turn her life around, but Bard AI believes this will soon change.

The program pointed out: “Nina is a sweet and gentle soul, but she's also been through a lot of trauma.

“She was attacked by a gang of men, and she witnessed her boyfriend, Seb Franklin, being murdered.

“She could become a serial killer if she decides to take revenge on the people who hurt her.”

The final character Bard AI predicted could become the next cobbles killer on the soap is David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).

Loyal fans of the show will know David has had a difficult time on the cobbles and even landed himself in prison on more than one occasion.

Now, the AI system has warned that he could be the next person to transition into a cruel killer in Weatherfield.

It argued: “David is a complex character who has done some terrible things in the past. He's capable of great violence, and he's also very manipulative.

It is also possible that a new character could be introduced to Coronation Street who could take on the role as the next cobbles killer.

Only time will tell who will take over Stephen Reid cruel role on the ITV soap.
