A Place in the Sun filming thrown into chaos as host Laura Hamilton reveals she can't fly to Spain

A PLACE In The Sun host Laura Hamilton revealed she can't fly to Spain to film the show because she has contracted Covid.

The popular Channel 4 anchor, 39, apologised to her colleagues for 'letting them down'.

Posting a photo of her positive rapid test to her Instagram stories, Laura revealed the filming's been thrown into chaos.

"Was supposed to fly to Spain to film today! Sorry to let my team down @aplaceinthesun," she captioned the photo.

Laura joined the A Place In The Sun presenting team in 2011 and recently returned to work after announcing her shock split from husband, Alex Goward.

Laura married insurance broker Alex in 2012 – three years after they started dating.

They share two children together, eight-year-old Rocco and a daughter Tahlia, six.

The TV presenter released the surprising statement in January on Instagram to fans announcing she had separated from Alex.

Laura said: "This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.

"Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time."

Alongside her message to fans, Laura shared an image which read: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

She later told how she was "overwhelmed with sadness" after her split with her husband of 13 years.

In a new interview with Hello! Magazine, Laura confessed: "There have been times I have been so overwhelmed with sadness."

She said of their split: "It was a chapter of my life that I am now closing, and I have so many happy memories.

"I am very much someone who believes in focusing on the future, not having regrets, and I want to be positive for my children."
