You can now go on a cruise with Mary Berry and even have afternoon tea with her

Joining Mary Berry for tea and cakes while taking in the spectacular countryside all sounds very much like a Great British Bake Off fan's dream – but now you can do exactly that on a brand new cruise.

In fact, the Queen of Baking will be hosting a very special eight-day sailing in Portugal on board Emerald Waterways' luxurious ship Emerald Radiance – and you can join her.

Highlights include afternoon tea with the former Bake Off host, a private talk from Mary herself followed by a Q&A session, and even a book signing.

Oh, and of course she's also curated a special three-course menu to be served up at a lush gala dinner on one of the nights.

Meanwhile, the itinerary itself seems fitting for a British icon.

Sailing on a round-trip from Porto, you'll get to explore the best of Portugal's wine region.

Highlights include the chance to learn about the local heritage at the fascinating Douro Museum, explore the medieval town of Salamanca and its incredible tapas scene, or even try your hand at canoeing amidst the spectacular scenery.

Not to mention there's everything from yoga to cocktail making on offer on board Emerald Radiance, with its luxurious cabins and specially-created design to sail down the Douro.

Mary said: "I can see why people are so taken with river cruising. As someone who is fascinated by travel, culture and food destinations, I think it’s the perfect way to experience them plus Portugal's Douro valley, which has remained unchanged for centuries, is a real hidden gem."

If you want to take part you're going to need to splash the cash; prices for The Delights of the Douro with Mary Berry cruise start from £2,545 per person.

Still, that does include your return flights, accommodation onboard Emerald Radiance, all meals & all inclusive drinks on board, a private talk, Q&A and book signing with Mary Berry, the gala dinner of Mary’s curated recipes, all complimentary activities and excursions as listed in the itinerary and all tips/gratuities, taxes and transfers.

If you are interested, you may want to be quick as we reckon it could sell out – this is Mary Berry after all!
