Norwegian Air is now giving away FREE long-haul flights and upgrades… but there's a catch

NORWEGIAN is handing out free return flights or upgrades to its most frequent flyers of 2017.

But to qualify, flyers have to be members of the low-cost airline’s new loyalty programme Norwegian Reward.

Norwegian Reward is a free-to-join loyalty scheme which gives members the chance to earn rewards and CashPoints, which lead to discounted and free Norwegian flights.

Norwegian Reward members who fly at least 20 round trips (40 one-way flights) and have at least 3000 CashPoints earned on flight tickets by 31 December 2017 will receive a free return flight to any one of Norwegian’s 13 long-haul destinations from Gatwick in 2018.

The loyalty programme is also offering members who fly at least 10 round trips (20 one way flights) on flexible tickets in 2017 a free upgrade to the Premium cabin on any long-haul route.

Norwegian is now Gatwick Airport’s second largest long-haul airline, with low-cost flights to the USA, Asia and South America.

The airline continues its rapid expansion in September, with three new routes commencing to Denver, Seattle and Singapore followed by new services to Buenos Aires, Chicago and Austin in 2018 from £150.

As Sun Online revealed earlier this year, Norwegian’s new loyalty scheme works exactly like a cashback website where shoppers are given money back on purchases they make online and includes big retailers like ASOS, John Lewis, M&S and Argos.

Passengers can make purchases through Norwegian’s online shop and then turn these points into free flights, free baggage on flights or seat reservations.

The new addition to Norwegian’s loyalty scheme is similar to Avios where customers can also earn points for spending online.

The quickest way to benefit from the reward scheme is by booking flights with the low-cost airline.

In fact, for every six flights (or three return flights) you’ll get a free “reward”.

This could be a free seat reservation or baggage-fee waiver and this is valid for 12 months.
