Legoland's new Haunted House Monster Party attraction closes just hours after opening leaving visitors furious

LEGOLAND guests were left furious after the new Haunted House Monster Party attraction had to be closed due to technical problems – just hours after opening.

The ride launched on April 13, but faced problems during the day and closed shortly after its official opening.

It remained closed for the duration of the weekend and today.

The problem is being investigated and there is no re-opening date at the moment.

Some visitors wrote on social media that they weren't told it was closed despite queuing.

Twitter user Julian wrote: "Err I was there yesterday and wasted 1.5hrs queuing for haunted house, only to be told it was closed."

Err I was there yesterday and wasted 1.5hrs quein for haunted house, only to be told it was closed. We got a free ride ticket to use at 5.30. Not bad the park closed at 6pm. 7 rides were closed all day and couldn't use there over priced qbot. No refunds tho hey lego robbers.

Another guest wrote: "Queued for an hour on 2 different rides just for the rides to be closed as we got to the front of the queue!!!"

Lauren Melling, 30, said she travelled from Leigh-on-Sea in Essex with her two sons – four-year-old Teddy and seven-year-old Jayden – specifically for the new ride on Saturday and queued for two hours before being turned away.

Dental nurse Laura said her children got drenched in the rain, and said: "Massive, massive queue. It was ridiculous."

She said they were told the ride had broken down due to a "technical fault", adding: "It wasn't fun."

Laura also said the ride appeared to have only worked for an hour or so before breaking down.

She said: "There was a lot of people moaning.

"There was loads of people that had gone there, clearly like us, for that ride. So yeah, people were really annoyed."

"My child was crying. Teddy was crying. He was really upset about it."

@LEGOLANDWindsor visited on 13th April for my sons birthday, horrendous customer service, queued for an hour on 2 different rides just for the rides to be closed as we got to the front of the queue!!! Not even an offer of a fast track to make up for it!

@LEGOLANDWindsor Drove FIR OVER THREE HOURS crack of dawn to experience new Monster Ride. Erm sorry didn’t think to check FB before we left ? So many rides closed . Miserable adults & very disappointed little girl . We would like a refund ! What do we do ?

A Legoland spokesperson told Sun Online Travel: "We’re experiencing technical issues with the Haunted House Monster Party, which means that we won’t be in a position to open the ride tomorrow (Monday 15 April).

"We are working with the ride manufacturer to have the ride back in operation as soon as we can and we’ll keep you informed of any updates on our social channels.

"We apologise for any disappointment and hope you will enjoy the many other rides, shows and attractions across the Resort."

It isn't the first problem for theme parks guests this month, as Drayton Manor visitors were evacuated from the Shockwave rollercoaster after the ride broke down half way up the incline.

The park confirmed no guests were injured after they were removed from the flight.

Disney World guests in Florida were also evacuated after an alarm went off in the busy Animal Kingdom.
